The certificate will be accredited under the standards of ISO 22003 and ISO Guide 65 (Product Certification), providing organizations with a comprehensive food safety management system.
The Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 220:2008 for Food Safety has been supplemented to include prerequisite programs applicable to the ISO 22000 standard, thereby making the latter more comprehensive and aligning it with the benchmark requirements of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
The issuance of FSSC 22000 marks another significant step toward the harmonization and global recognition of food safety standards. FSSC 22000 integrates ISO 22000:2005—Food Safety Management System, PAS 220:2008, and other supplementary requirements. Its content has also been recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). The GFSI aims to maintain a benchmark auditing process for food safety management systems, thereby achieving standardization of food safety criteria. Meanwhile, adopting GFSI standards—recognized and widely accepted by global retailers—can help enhance cost efficiency throughout the entire food supply chain.
