China’s first industry standard for “Vegetable Fat Powder” has been released.

  On May 11, 2015, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the industry standard "Vegetable Fat Powder," with the standard number QB/T 4791—2015, effective October 1, 2015. This standard specifies requirements for the definition of vegetable fat powder, its raw and auxiliary materials, sensory characteristics, test methods, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage. In particular, it sets forth specific regulations on fat content, the proportion of surface fats relative to total fat, peroxide value, moisture content, and char particles, which will help enterprises improve their production management levels and enhance the overall product quality of the industry. The standard provides clear definitions for both vegetable fat powder and vegetable fat liquid.
